If you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it. – Peter Drucker
As Busy As You Want to Be
1.Before your can fill your calendar you need to figure out how much you are working now. In the beginning of my career – I would look at the calendar and just count the days I worked. If it was a 4 hour call or 18 hour long day it would just be a day. Later I got QuickBooks and now I keep track of days and Hours billed for each year.
2. You need to keep track of the shows you do. And did you like doing that event. At the end of every show people are like – Great job – Nice working with you – We will see you again next year. Be polite – Say Thanks. But really think about that show. Was it a great show and Do you want to work with them again?
Doing Something Unimportant Well Does Not Make It Important. Tim Ferriss
3. Just because people call you with a job – does not mean you need to say Yes. The more bad shows you say No to – the more room you will have to book the Yes Shows.
4. Try to eliminate Time Wasters – Meetings that you do not need to go to – emails you don’t need to respond to. Take control of your time or you will let other people waste it for you.
Plan your days off – Put them on the Calendar.
